Frequently asked questions

What is Boost?

Boost is a four-month Founder Fellowship operated by Company Ventures in partnership with New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC). Designed for first-time founders building venture-scalable companies in New York City, the program provides the structure, mentorship, and community to help founders strengthen their business fundamentals, expand their networks, and prepare for institutional fundraising.

What stage should my company be?

Boost is designed for founders who are beyond the idea stage and have begun demonstrating early traction. This could include a working prototype, pilot customers, initial users, early revenue, or other meaningful signs of market validation. We're looking for founders who are actively building and ready to accelerate their company's growth.

What will I gain from Boost?

Small-group coaching, individualized mentorship, practical workshops, and office hours designed to help you reach company-specific milestones. Fellows also gain access to Company Ventures' founder community, shared workspace in Midtown Manhattan, and a network of experienced founders, operators, investors, advisors, and ecosystem partners.

What makes Boost different?

Boost combines practical startup education with personalized support. Grounded in Company Ventures' North Star framework, the program helps founders clarify their vision, mission, and values while building companies designed for sustainable, venture-scale growth. We look for founders who are uniquely positioned to solve the problems they're tackling and invest in helping them become exceptional leaders.

What is the time commitment?

The fellowship is designed for founders who are actively building their companies. Participants should expect to dedicate approximately 8-10 hours per month to hybrid programming, mentorship sessions, workshops, and community events.

When and where does the program take place?

The 2027 cohort will run from March through June 2027. Programming is hybrid, with in-person sessions centered at Company Ventures' office at 22 Vanderbilt alongside select virtual programming.

Is there an investment opportunity?

Yes. At the conclusion of the fellowship, Company Ventures will invest $250,000 in one or more participating companies that meet our investment criteria. While participation in Boost does not guarantee investment, the program is designed to help founders strengthen their businesses and prepare for institutional fundraising.

When do applications open?

Applications for the 2027 cohort will open in Fall 2026. We encourage interested founders to join our mailing list to be notified as soon as applications become available.
