Matt Harrigan

Co-founder & Managing Partner
Matt invests in exceptional, driven founders with deep domain expertise and a clear view on how to unlock massive opportunities. He is especially drawn to founders who believe, as he does, that building every day in close proximity to other great founders is a genuine competitive advantage — not an empty VC platform platitude, but an engine for the kind of osmosis, accountability, and speed that early-stage companies need most. That belief is the animating force behind Grand Central Tech, the residency program he co-created that remains the heart and soul of Company Ventures.
Before venture, Matt started his career at Booz Allen Hamilton working in international economic development, including extended time living and working across East and West Africa. He transitioned into tech through roles at Fahrenheit 212 and ESPN, where he oversaw the college football app and overhauled the company's mobile analytics infrastructure. Those experiences — building in unfamiliar environments, shipping product features at scale — informed his approach to working with founders navigating the earliest and most uncertain stages of company creation.
Matt is a native New Yorker and proud to have built a firm that has contributed to the city's emergence as a world-class tech ecosystem. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and two children. You can find him strolling with his giant schnoodle, Lucy, during off leash hours each morning in Prospect Park. He is a graduate of Rice University and Regis High School.
